Baulch explores ontological difference through detailed readings of Blake’s illuminated books like Milton and Jerusalem, drawing on Gilles Deleuze’s concept of the event. He is currently writing two books: Being at the Limit: William Blake, the sublime, and the event and The Afterlife of Revolution, which examines how the failure of the French Revolution inspired a literature of revolutionary futurity.
Publications & Awards
He has published a critical edition of Thomas Lovell Beddoes’ The Brides’ Tragedy in Romantic Circles Editions and essays on Romantic authors like Coleridge and Beddoes in journals such as Studies in Romanticism and The Coleridge Bulletin. Baulch has received UWF’s Distinguished Teaching Award (2012, 1999) and the Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Advising Award (2010).
