Dr David Baker is an Associate Professor at the UCL Institute of Education (IOE), leading the Music Education MA programme. His research focuses on music education, disability inclusion, assistive technologies, and informal learning. He has held roles such as Academic Head of Teaching and Learning (2018–2022) and served on editorial boards, including the International Journal of Community Music (2018–2022). David co-authored a book on visually-impaired musicians with Lucy Green (2017) and contributed chapters to major handbooks in music psychology and care in music education. His work bridges academic research with practical applications, including developing assistive technologies and advocating for inclusive music education globally.
