David Anderson is a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow at Queen Mary University of London, specializing in modern and contemporary literature, film, and intercultural comparison. His research explores nostalgia in popular culture, urban environments, and transnational cultural dynamics. He holds a PhD from UCL, where he also earned his BA and MA, and has held postdoctoral roles at UCL Urban Lab and the Leibniz Centre in Berlin.

Research Interests: Anderson’s work bridges literature, film, and urban studies, focusing on how built environments shape cultural narratives. His book Landscape and Subjectivity in the Work of Patrick Keiller, W.G. Sebald and Iain Sinclair (OUP, 2020) examines spatial representation in modern texts. Current projects include a study of Anglo-German cultural relations in post-1980s popular culture.
Publications: Over a dozen peer-reviewed articles in journals like Journal of European Studies and Angermion, analyzing topics from urban infrastructure to historical fiction.
Awards: Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship (2019–2023).
Teaching: Has instructed courses on English and European literature at UCL, Queen Mary, and City Lit.
