David Albrecht is a Research Fellow in the Market Behavior department at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB), where he serves as Research and Lab Coordinator for the Leibniz Association-funded Lab² project. This initiative builds a research hub for collaborative meta-science and crowd-science projects including many-labs, many-designs, and many-analysts studies.
He holds a PhD in Economics (Human Decisions and Policy Design) from Maastricht University, supervised by Alexander Brüggen, Martin Strobel, and Thomas Meissner.
Albrecht's research centers on behavioral economics and decision-making processes, with specific expertise in economic preferences and group behavior. He employs meta-science frameworks, experimental methodologies, survey design, structural estimation techniques, Bayesian statistics, and machine learning to generate data-driven insights. His current work focuses on enhancing research replicability and establishing collaborative infrastructure for social science.
As Lab² coordinator, he leads efforts to integrate large research teams across institutions for joint methodological innovation. The project represents a significant investment by the Leibniz Association in advancing scientific rigor through crowd-sourced research practices.
