David A. Dana is the Kirkland & Ellis Professor of Law at Northwestern University's Pritzker School of Law and holds a courtesy appointment as Professor of Real Estate at the Kellogg School of Management. He serves as Director of the Program on Sustainability and Food and Animal Law. Previously, he was Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and held endowed research professorships at Northwestern.
Education:

- JD magna cum laude, Harvard University
His research spans environmental law, property rights, land use, and legal ethics, with active work on climate change adaptation, nanotechnology risks, foreclosure crises, and attorney fee structures. Publications frequently address regulatory frameworks and ethical dimensions of law.
Consulting activities include:
- Legal Ethics counsel for Enron litigation and malpractice disputes
- Pro bono environmental consulting for NGOs
- Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Living Cities initiative
He directs the Program on Sustainability and Food and Animal Law and is affiliated with the Center for Legal Studies and Center on Law, Business, and Economics.
