David A Fowle

David A Fowle is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Geology at the University of Kansas, where he has been affiliated since 2006. His research explores the interplay between microorganisms and geochemical processes, with applications to the rock record, environmental remediation, and mineral exploration.

Research Interests: Dr. Fowle specializes in biogeochemistry and geomicrobiology, focusing on microbial influences on iron cycling, methanogenesis, and dolomite formation. His work bridges experimental and field studies to understand ancient environmental conditions and modern biogeochemical dynamics.
