Daved Fremont

Daved Fremont is a Professor of Pathology & Immunology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, and Molecular Microbiology at Washington University School of Medicine. He serves on the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences Admissions Committee and is affiliated with the Immunobiology Division.

His research investigates immune surveillance mechanisms and pathogen evasion strategies, specializing in structural analysis of viral immune sabotage. The lab employs protein biochemistry, x-ray crystallography, and computational biology to study MHC antigen presentation pathways, natural killer cell receptors, and viral decoy proteins from herpesviruses/poxviruses that disrupt cytokine signaling and antigen processing.

Professor Fremont has lectured in foundational immunology and molecular biology courses since 1999 and serves on the Molecular Biophysics Graduate Program Steering Committee. His laboratory produces recombinant proteins for structural and functional studies of host-pathogen interactions, focusing on molecular mimicry and immune receptor sabotage mechanisms.
