Professor Dave Pietro is an Associate Professor and Director of Jazz Studies at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. He holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education from North Texas State University and a Master of Arts in Jazz Composition from NYU under Jim McNeely. A globally renowned saxophonist, composer, and educator, Pietro has performed in 30+ countries with prestigious ensembles like the Grammy-winning Maria Schneider Orchestra and the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra. His work bridges jazz with interdisciplinary influences, including East Indian music collaborations with Sandip Burman.
