University of Kentuckyمعرفی
Dave H. McNear is a Professor in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at the University of Kentucky's Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. His research explores biogeochemical processes at the soil-water-plant interface (rhizosphere) and their influence on trace element mobility and bioavailability in natural systems.
McNear investigates metal interactions with inorganic, organic, and biological soil components to predict environmental impact. Metals in his research originate from both geological sources (metal-rich parent materials) and anthropogenic activities including mining, military operations, and agricultural applications.
Educational background includes a Ph.D. in Environmental Soil Chemistry from the University of Delaware (2005), an M.S. in Environmental Pollution Control from Pennsylvania State University (2001), a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management from Pennsylvania State University (1997) with an Environmental Engineering minor, and an A.A. in Life Sciences from Harrisburg Area Community College (1995).
