Dave Bennett is Professor of Practice in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Mississippi State University and founding partner of Bennett Trenchless Engineers. He holds a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from University of Illinois, MS and BS from Mississippi State University.
With 48 years' expertise in geotechnical and trenchless engineering, his research focuses on pipeline design methodologies, microtunneling, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) systems. Recent publications address regulatory compliance, risk modeling for hydrofracture, and large-diameter pipeline installations.
Professor Bennett pioneered industry guidelines as co-author of 'Horizontal Directional Drilling Good Practices Guidelines'. His trenchless technology innovations earned multiple honors including NASTT Hall of Fame induction (2013) and Trenchless Technology Person of the Year (2005).
