Dave Allen is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physical Education and Athletics at Mount Holyoke College, while also serving as Head Swimming and Diving Coach and Aquatics Director. He has held these roles since 1998, during which time the swim team has broken over 100 records and achieved national recognition for academic excellence.
Allen's expertise spans sports coaching, aquatic safety, and physical education, with certifications in athletic training, strength and conditioning, and Red Cross water safety instruction. He has coached multiple NCAA qualifiers, including All-American athlete Cathleen Pruden, and contributes to the United States Sports Camps as Assistant Director since 1988.
His academic background includes an M.S. in Exercise Science-Human Performance from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a B.S. in Physical Education from Bridgewater State College. Allen maintains a dual meet record of 98-78-1 at Mount Holyoke and has led teams to top national academic rankings in NCAA Division III.
