Darryll K. Jones is a Professor of Law at Florida A&M University College of Law, where he has held multiple leadership roles including Interim Dean, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development. He previously taught at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and Stetson University College of Law, contributing significantly to legal education and scholarship.
His educational background includes a Juris Doctorate (1986) and a Master of Laws in Taxation (1994) from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (1983). He also completed military training including the 112th U.S. Army Judge Advocate Officer Basic Course and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
Professor Jones specializes in federal tax law, with a focus on partnership taxation, nonprofit organizations, and tax policy. His research explores the intersection of tax law with business entities, charitable organizations, and public policy. He has contributed extensively to legal scholarship through books, book chapters, and numerous peer-reviewed articles.
His recent and forthcoming publications reflect a continued engagement with timely legal issues such as stochastic terrorism and AI in tax-exempt joint ventures, the taxation of carried interest, and the private benefit doctrine.
