Dr Darren Moore is a Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Exeter, where he has taught since 2008 and held a lectureship since 2017. He co-directs the online MSc Psychology Conversion Programme and leads modules on children and young people's mental health, personality and individual differences, and educational psychology. He is affiliated with the Research Centre for Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusive Education (SENDIN) and the interdisciplinary Children and Young People's Wellbeing network.
His educational background includes a PhD in Education (University of Exeter, 2011), an MSc in Educational Research (University of Exeter, 2007), and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology (University of Surrey, 2005).
Moore's research centers on wellbeing in educational settings, with emphasis on implementation science applied to schools. He investigates ADHD interventions, social-emotional mental health as a special educational need, teacher burnout, school attendance barriers, and inclusive science teaching. His work adopts a systems perspective viewing schools as complex adaptive entities, prioritizing practitioner involvement in research design and youth participation in studies.

He actively supervises doctoral and master's students while serving as a Methods Editor for Campbell's Education Coordinating Group. His teaching spans PGCE, MSc Psychology, and MA Education programmes with expertise in research methods pedagogy. Moore engages in consultancy, editorial work, and keynote speaking related to mental health implementation in schools.
Through SENDIN and the Children and Young People's Wellbeing network, he contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives addressing UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing) and 4 (Quality Education).
