Dr. Emma Solomon-Moore is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Activity and Public Health within the Department for Health at the University of Bath, where she joined in November 2017. She holds additional affiliations with the Centre for Qualitative Research, Centre for 21st Century Public Health, and Centre for Motivation and Behaviour Change. Dr. Solomon-Moore serves as Principal Investigator on multiple research projects and actively supervises doctoral students.
Her educational background includes a PhD in Sport and Health Sciences from the University of Exeter (2014), where she evaluated the 'Devon Active Villages' community-level physical activity intervention. Prior to Bath, she worked as a Research Associate at the University of the West of England (2013) and as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol (2015), where she project managed the British Heart Foundation-funded 'B-Proact1v' study.
Dr. Solomon-Moore's research focuses on physical activity, health, and wellbeing among children, adolescents, and families, with particular interests in weight stigma experiences among young women, social media's role in health, and community-level interventions to improve public health and reduce health inequalities. Her work employs both quantitative and qualitative methods, utilizing both objective and self-reported measures of physical activity. She has conducted research across diverse areas including school-based physical activity, rural community interventions, physical activity and chronic conditions, and social determinants of health behavior.
Her publications demonstrate a strong focus on adolescent health, physical education experiences, and community interventions, with recent work examining menstruation and physical activity, graded exercise therapy for pediatric chronic fatigue, and the relationship between physical education experiences and adult physical activity patterns. Her research consistently addresses health inequalities and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and wellbeing.

Her external position as Honorary Lecturer at Bristol Medical School (2018-2021) further demonstrates her commitment to academic collaboration. She maintains active research partnerships with numerous external organizations to evaluate and improve public health initiatives, particularly focusing on obesity prevention and community-wide interventions.
