معرفی
Dr. Darren Creek is a Professor and ARC Future Fellow at Monash University's Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Drug Delivery, Disposition & Dynamics. His research focuses on metabolomics and systems pharmacology to combat infectious diseases like malaria and sleeping sickness. He holds leadership roles in major projects, including the 'Molecular Basis of Rapid Cellular Replication in the Malaria Parasite' (ARC-funded) and the 'Drug Target Identification Platform' (Department of Health & Aged Care). His work has led to novel metabolomics techniques and insights into protozoan parasite metabolism.
Education: PhD in Pharmaceutics from Monash University (MIPS) under Professors Sue and Bill Charman. Postdoctoral experience includes preclinical drug discovery at Monash and parasite biochemistry at the University of Glasgow.
Research Interests: Metabolomics, systems pharmacology, parasitology (malaria, trypanosomiasis), drug discovery, and antimicrobial resistance. Key achievements include co-developing IDEOM software for metabolomics and contributing to the Scottish Metabolomics Facility.
Grants & Awards: ARC Future Fellow, Australian Synchrotron Award (2021), Monash Faculty Seed Grant (2017). Active in global health initiatives, including Uganda's orphan education and community health programs (Let the Needy Smile).
Labs & Teams: Creek Lab (www.creek-lab.com), leading interdisciplinary teams in drug discovery and metabolic studies. Collaborations span Australia, UK, and international institutions.
