Darko Babić is an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Sub-Department of Museology at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. He holds a PhD in Museum/Heritage Studies and an MA in Ethnology & Information Sciences. His professional experience includes roles as a project manager for international initiatives, conference organizer, archivist, and TV assistant. He actively contributes to the heritage sector through leadership positions, including Chairman of ICOM Croatia, member of ICOM-ICTOP's board, and member of the Supervisory Committee of the European Association for Heritage Interpretation.
His research focuses on museums/heritage and development, management strategies, and interpretation practices. He has extensive experience with EU-funded projects and serves as a freelance consultant for NGOs in the museum/heritage sector.
Babić is engaged in academic and professional dialogues, such as the ACHS 2016 conference sessions on critical heritage studies, co-production in heritage, and the role of heritage in social change.
