Dariusz Doliński

Professor Dariusz Doliński is a prominent social psychologist at SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, affiliated with the Faculty of Psychology in Wrocław and the Department of Social Psychology. He serves as Head of the Department of Social Psychology in Wrocław and University Development Coordinator. His research focuses on social influence, emotions, motivation, advertising psychology, consumer behavior, and obedience mechanisms. He has authored over 200 publications in prestigious journals like Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and edited books such as Techniques of Social Influence (2016). He is an Ordinary Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and a former president of the Polish Association of Social Psychology (PSPS).

His work includes studies on vaccine acceptance during the pandemic, replication of Milgram’s obedience experiments, and cross-cultural education dynamics. He teaches social psychology and psychology of advertising. Notable research contributions involve examining the role of empathy in reducing obedience to authority and analyzing decision-making in forensic psychiatric evaluations.

Professor Doliński has coordinated major research projects, including securing over PLN 6.5 million in grants from NCN and NAWA. His research centers include the Center for Research on Social Behavior and the Institute of Psychology. He emphasizes ethical considerations in field studies and the application of psychological principles to real-world challenges like medical disinformation.
