Darius Sollohub is a Professor and Interim Chair at the New Jersey School of Architecture (NJIT), leading architectural education and research. He holds a B.A. in Architecture from Columbia University (1983) and an M.Arch from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (1988). His work focuses on generational shifts in architectural practice, urban design, parking infrastructure, and transit-oriented development.
Recent research explores how millennial architects navigate professional challenges and innovate within industry frameworks. He has conducted extensive studies on parking structure design, urban resilience post-disaster, and improving public transit accessibility. His funded studios engage real-world planning challenges with community stakeholders.
Recipient of the 2022 Van Houten Award for Excellence in Teaching, Sollohub emphasizes pedagogical innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. His publications span academic journals and industry guidelines, addressing topics from facade technology to neighborhood revitalization strategies. He oversees projects balancing aesthetic, functional, and environmental priorities in architectural education and urban development.
