Darius Armstrong-James is a Professor of Infectious Diseases and Medical Mycology at Imperial College London, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Infectious Disease. He holds clinical appointments as an honorary consultant physician at Imperial College Healthcare, Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, and Guy's and St. Thomas'. His research focuses on fungal immunodeficiency in organ transplantation, host-pathogen interactions in cystic fibrosis, and multi-microbial dynamics in respiratory diseases. He leads the Imperial College Network of Excellence in Fungal Science and the Cystic Fibrosis Strategic Research Centre in Fungal Immunotherapy (www.TrIFIC.org).

His research spans systems biology of fungal adaptation, Toll-like receptor pathways, and immunotherapeutic strategies for pulmonary aspergillosis. Collaborations include work with Jane Davies (Aspergillus-Pseudomonas interactions), Brian Robertson and Carlton Evans (Aspergillus-mycobacterial interactions), and Matt Fisher (fungal population genomics).
