Daria Semegen is an Associate Professor at Stony Brook University, specializing in Composition, Theory, and Electronic Music. As a pioneer in electronic music composition, she has been extensively studied and published internationally.

Scientific Awards include six NEA grants, BMI honors, ISCM prizes, and the 2009 Susan B. Anthony Lifetime Achievement Award. She was the first woman to receive the McKim Commission from the Library of Congress.
As Director of the Electronic Music Studio, she mentored doctoral candidates like A.E. Hinkle-Turner and collaborated with renowned performers such as Dylan Ebrahimian and Monica Bello. Her compositions like "Bargello" and "Arabesque" explore live instrument integration with electronic soundscapes.
