Talia Amar is a composer and pianist serving as a Teaching Professor in the Composition Department at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance since 2017. She also leads the academy's Innovation and Technology in Pedagogy initiative. Her work bridges traditional and electronic music, with compositions performed globally by ensembles like Ensemble Modern and Meitar. She represents Israel in major festivals, including ISCM World New Music and ECCO Festival.
Dr. Amar holds a doctoral degree from Brandeis University and has been honored with prestigious awards such as the 2018 Israel Prime Minister Award and the 2022 Acum Award. Her research interests span electroacoustic composition, music technology, and innovative pedagogical approaches in music education.
