Gilad Cohen

Gilad Cohen is an Associate Professor of Music at Ramapo College of New Jersey, joining in 2014. His work spans composition, performance, and music theory, with a focus on fusing concert music, rock, and theatre.

His research explores intersections between progressive rock and classical forms, particularly analyzing Pink Floyd’s structural innovations. Cohen’s compositional output includes:

As a performer, Cohen has played piano, bass guitar, and voice with ensembles like Shorashim Ensemble and Double Space at venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center and Merkin Hall. His current projects include Here We Stand for rappers and large ensemble, co-written with Ronvé O’Daniel.
