Daren Kendall is an Assistant Professor of Art and Art History at the College of Wooster, currently on leave during Spring 2025. He holds an MFA from Cornell University (2012), a BFA from College for Creative Studies (1993), and an AAS from Mohawk Valley Community College (1990).
His research explores how art shapes human interaction through sculptural frameworks, collaborative events, and exhibitions. He emphasizes community engagement with musicians, dancers, scholars, and the public to foster meaningful connections. His work bridges material sculpture, spatial design, and participatory art.
Notable awards include the John Hartell Graduate Award and residencies at Saltonstall Foundation and Arts, Letters & Numbers. His exhibitions include venues like the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art (Norman, OK) and upcoming shows at Santa Clara University and Florence, Italy. Screenings of his work have occurred at festivals in Toronto, Tehran, and NYC.
Teaching responsibilities include sculpture and ceramics courses at all academic levels, as well as guiding Independent Study projects.
