Darcy MacPherson is a full Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba, where he has taught since 2002 and served as Research Director of the Marcel A. Desautels Centre for Private Enterprise and the Law. He is also Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Manitoba Law Journal and actively participates in academic governance as a former elected Senator on the University Senate. His teaching areas include Commercial Law, Corporations, Clerkship Programs, and Appellate Advocacy.

MacPherson’s research focuses on Disability Rights, Corporate Law, and Commercial Law, with interdisciplinary intersections in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and Administrative Law. His scholarship analyzes corporate criminal liability, trusts in securitization, and legal reform in commercial regimes. Recent publications emphasize corporate governance, partnership law, and tort damages for pre-existing conditions.
Scientific awards include the Students’ Teacher Recognition Award (2012) and University of Manitoba Annual Outreach Award (2010/11). He has coached moot teams in four competitions since 2003 and advises clerkship programs at Manitoba courts. Community involvement includes leadership roles at the Canadian Centre on Disability Studies and academic advisory roles.
