معرفی
Darcy Ireland is a PhD researcher at the University of Galway, affiliated with the School of Languages, Literatures & Cultures within the College of Arts, Social Sciences, & Celtic Studies. Their research focuses on the Latin tradition and early medieval Irish intellectual legacy, particularly the Pauca problemata de enigmatibus ex tomis canonicis (Irish Reference Bible), a late 8th-century Hiberno-Latin text from the Carolingian period. The project investigates the text's sources, including patristic authors like Augustine and Jerome, to contextualize its influence on continental Europe during Charlemagne's era.
Research Aims: This work seeks to establish the Irish Reference Bible as a critical example of Hiberno-Latin exegesis, laying groundwork for a modern critical edition of its unprinted sections. The study emphasizes source analysis and intellectual heritage.
Funding & Supervision: Supervised by Dr. Jacopo Bisagni, funded by the Hardiman Research Scholarship (2023–2027).
