Dr. Dara Stanley is an Associate Professor in the School of Agriculture and Food Science at University College Dublin, and a member of the Earth Institute. Her research focuses on biodiversity, pollinator ecology, pesticide impacts, and sustainable agriculture. She holds a BA (Mod) in Botany from Trinity College Dublin (2008) and a PhD in pollinator ecology from the same institution (2013). Her postdoctoral work at Royal Holloway, University of London (2013–2015) and University of KwaZulu-Natal (2016) explored pesticide effects on bees and plant-pollinator dynamics. She leads major projects like PROTECTS (DAFM-funded) and SUSPOLL (SFI-funded), investigating pesticide impacts on ecosystems and sustainable pollination. She is actively involved in science communication through Soapbox Science and has received awards including the Founders Prize (2021) and SFI Early Career Award (2021).
