معرفی
Prof Danny Huang is a faculty member at the Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute, leading the Ubiquitin Signalling research group within the School of Cancer Sciences. His work focuses on structural and biochemical analysis of RING E3 ubiquitin ligases and their roles in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
Education:
- PhD in Biochemistry, University of Sydney (2002)
- BSc (First Class Honours), University of Sydney (1996)
Research Interests: Huang’s group investigates ubiquitin signaling pathways, including regulation of E3 ligases, mutation-induced deregulation, and substrate specificity. Their approach combines X-ray crystallography and biochemical assays to uncover therapeutic targets in cancer and immune disorders.
Recent Publications show a focus on E3 ligase inhibitors, MDM2-p53 interactions, and ubiquitin variant applications. Key collaborations span institutions like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and University of Sydney.
Scientific Awards:
- Lorne Protein Young Investigator Award (2006)
Students: Current PhD candidates include Emily Dearlove, Shijie Wang, and Alice Wicks (BBSRC-funded).
Laboratory operations are part of the institute’s Scientific Services and Laboratory Services, contributing to broader initiatives like targeting translational control and reprogramming neutrophils for cancer immunotherapy.
