Daniëlle van Ark serves as a Teacher and Internship Coordinator at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK), affiliated with the Bachelor Photography programme. Her role combines academic instruction with practical internship coordination within the Photography department.
Her educational foundation includes studies at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (2005) and the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam (2013), establishing her technical and conceptual expertise.
Van Ark's research critically examines opaque value-creation systems and social status hierarchies in contemporary culture, particularly within contexts of mass reproducibility and ephemerality. Her interdisciplinary practice spans photography, film, drawing, installation, and sculpture to interrogate how societal worth is constructed and deconstructed in digital and physical realms, with emphasis on institutional power dynamics in art markets and cultural production.
Her work has gained international recognition through exhibitions at FOAM Amsterdam, gallery tegenboschvanvreden, Daegu Photo Biennale (South Korea), Museum de Fundatie (Zwolle), De Nederlandsche Bank, UNSEEN Amsterdam, and the Museum of the City of New York.
