Danilo Pani is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Cagliari. He coordinates the Integrated B.Sc. and M.Sc. Program in Biomedical Engineering and leads the Medical Devices and Signal Processing (MeDSP) laboratory.

His research focuses on advanced biomedical signal processing and medical devices, particularly: cardiac electrophysiology, non-invasive fetal ECG, telemedicine/telerehabilitation, wearable sensors for electrophysiological monitoring, taste electrophysiology, and neural signal processing. He has led projects like STOPme (PNRR MUR) and VISIONARY (PRIN 2022) and collaborates extensively with DEALAB and other European consortia.
He serves as Associate Editor for Scientific Data, IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering, and PLOS Digital Health. Current activities include organizing summer schools on biomedical AI and coordinating the IEEE Sensors Council Italy Chapter.
