Danilo Danisi is a Professor at Ababo Institute teaching across Graphic Design, Painting, Fashion Design, Comics and Illustration, and Restoration programs. Originally from Naples, he moved to Bologna in the 1990s, graduating from DAMS Visual Arts and earning a Painting diploma under C. Pozzati with thesis on interactive multimedia synesthesia.
His educational background bridges visual arts and digital technology. Prior to academia, he worked in airbrush illustration, software programming, and creating 'chiptunes' and graphics for video games as part of the European demoscene. In 2001, he founded creative duo Blanka y Negro specializing in underground posters, and opened design studio fecooonde.eu in 2003 while working as an art director for advertising agencies.
Danilo's research focuses on intersections between art and computational technologies, spanning computer art history, digital imaging, software art, netart, and emerging technologies. He has organized significant multimedia events including 'Synaestethic Modules,' 'Ugola' (2013-2018), '8TT8' (2016), 'Panopticon' (2017), and 'Circonferenze2030' (2021), hosting workshops on video games and interaction design with professionals using Touchdesigner, Vvvv, Arduino, and Unity.
His teaching covers advanced graphic design software, computer science fundamentals, and digital restoration techniques across multiple departments. His pedagogical approach combines technical instruction with cultural context, examining ethical implications of digital technology in contemporary life.
As an active academic, he coordinated the Ababo Graphic Design course from 2013 to 2019 and continues to shape curriculum development in digital arts and design education.
