معرفی
Stefano Centonze is a Professor at Ababo's School of Graphic Art, teaching illustration and woodcut techniques for second-year Graphic Art students. His courses focus on dynamic composition, relief engraving, and the reinterpretation of traditional graphic methods within contemporary practice.
Graduating in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (1991), his career spans professional illustration since 1988 for major publications including Il Corriere della Sera, la Repubblica, and L'Espresso, alongside cover designs for Mondadori and Feltrinelli.
His research interests emphasize the dynamic distribution of visual elements in space, historical woodcut techniques, and the translation of abstract forms through relief engraving. This bridges traditional graphic arts with modern applications in digital animation and multimedia storytelling.
Centonze's artistic achievements include:
- Lo straniero award (1998)
- Online Journalism Award (2017) for Francesco Totti, king of Rome
- Solo exhibition HUMANIZED at Tokyo's Italian Cultural Institute (2009)
- Animations for Working on Satie at RomaEuropaFestival (2016)
- Direction of Nada's music video Chi non ha (2022)
As an educator, he mentors students in personal artistic research through structured projects like foliage woodcuts and polychrome printing inspired by Edvard Munch, emphasizing technical mastery and conceptual innovation. His virtual exhibition FUORISTAGIONE (2021) further demonstrates his integration of digital platforms with traditional art forms.
