Danielle Wilson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre at the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, Brock University. She holds an MFA in Performance and a Graduate Diploma in Voice Teaching from York University, and has been a faculty member at Brock since 2006, where she teaches voice, performance, and directs DART Mainstage productions.
Her research centers on creative practice as research, with a focus on embodied expression, voice training, and rehearsal methodologies. Her work integrates historical, technical, and experiential inquiries into performance. She is particularly known for her interdisciplinary approach, blending voice, movement, music, and clowning in theatrical creation.
Wilson’s recent artistic and scholarly output reflects a strong engagement with actor-centered rehearsal practices, stage fright, and vocal embodiment. Her publications and performances, such as Stage Fright (2024), Slaying the Monster of Stage Fright (2017), and Actor-centered rehearsals (2016), demonstrate a consistent focus on psychological and physical dimensions of performance, often exploring the intersection of pedagogy and artistry.
