Dr Danielle Jansen is a Research Fellow at the School of Divinity, University of St Andrews, and holds a PhD in Systematic Theology from the same institution. She currently serves as a post-doctoral fellow with the Cross Training in Psychology and Theology grant funded by the John Templeton Foundation through the University of Birmingham (August 2024 – November 2025).
Her research focuses on constructive theology, particularly the doctrine of God, the atonement, and psychologically engaged theology. Her work bridges theological inquiry with insights from psychology, exploring topics such as divine wrath in the context of Christ’s atoning work.
She completed her doctoral thesis titled Beautifully tortured? The problem of divine wrath in the atoning work of Christ under the supervision of Dr. S.R. Holmes at the University of St Andrews (2024).
Her academic activities are supported by interdisciplinary grants and involve collaboration with institutions like the University of Birmingham through the Templeton Foundation-funded project.
