Danielle Brown serves as an Assistant Professor of Fashion Design in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Bowie State University's College of Arts & Sciences, teaching within the Visual and Communication Design and Media Arts (VCDMA) program. With over ten years of classroom experience, she specializes in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Management, and Marketing disciplines.
Her research centers on global ethics and social responsibility in offshore production, critically examining manufacturing regulations and labor practices. She actively collaborates with international fashion schools to bridge educational gaps and enhance cross-cultural learning experiences, while simultaneously developing her own fashion line and exploring innovative fashion photography techniques for commercial applications.
Professor Brown founded Silk Iron, LLC—a dual-purpose personal styling agency and charity—and pioneered a scholarship-funded summer fashion program for high school students to boost college enrollment. She guides students from high school through post-graduate careers via domestic and international industry excursions, emphasizing practical transition into the fashion workforce.
