Dr. Danielle Bailey is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at the University of Texas at Tyler. She holds a PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (2015), an MS in Forensic Science from The George Washington University (2010), and a BS in Forensic and Investigative Science from West Virginia University (2008).
Her research focuses on sexual offending policy, collateral consequences of public policy, and qualitative methodologies. Notable projects include analyzing the socioeconomic impact of sex offender registration laws and testifying before legislative committees in Texas and Nebraska. Dr. Bailey teaches courses in criminal justice research methods, forensic science, and community corrections, emphasizing hybrid and online formats.
She mentors undergraduate research projects, including studies presented at the UT Tyler Student Research Lyceum. Her courses integrate innovative methods like mock crime scene processing and courtroom testimony simulations. She also oversees the CETL, promoting pedagogical excellence through workshops and student engagement initiatives.
