Daniele Rosso is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Indiana University Northwest (since July 2023), previously serving as an Assistant Professor there from 2017. He held a Visiting Assistant Professor position at the University of California, Riverside (2014–2017), and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa and the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques. He earned his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Chicago in 2013, under Victor Ginzburg, and completed undergraduate studies at the Università di Bologna.
His research focuses on algebra, representation theory, quantum algebra, and noncommutative algebra, with contributions to generalized Weyl algebras, Grothendieck rings, and exotic Springer fibers. Recent work includes collaborations on twisted Weyl algebras and Bell-Rogalski algebras. He actively organizes conferences and sessions on representation theory, geometry, and combinatorial techniques.
Rosso has received multiple teaching awards, including the IU Northwest Board of Trustees' Teaching Award (2022, 2019, 2016) and the NSF/HHMI Scientific Teaching Fellowship (2016–2017). He also mentors students through programs like Math Circles of Chicago and Lead The Future.
His academic service includes refereeing for journals like SIGMA and Algebras and Representation Theory, and organizing departmental activities such as the Math Department Coffee Hour at UC Riverside. He has contributed to teaching initiatives, including the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) method during his graduate studies.
