Daniele Mathras is a Lecturer in Marketing at Northeastern University, with academic qualifications including a PhD in Marketing from Arizona State University, an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a BS in Business Administration from Babson College. Her research focuses on cultural belief systems—such as religion, environmental values, and health care culture—and their impact on consumer behavior and societal well-being. She investigates these themes across domains like healthcare, pro-environmental behavior, food systems, media, and vulnerable communities. Her work aims to enhance consumer, provider, and environmental well-being through policy, service design, and ethical consumption frameworks.
Mathras brings extensive industry experience from roles in entertainment (Warner Bros., Nelvana), retail (PUMA), and natural foods (Seed to Shelf), which inform her teaching and research. Her teaching covers marketing research, consumer behavior, services marketing, and sustainable marketing. She has received the 2014 Transformative Consumer Research Grant from the Association for Consumer Research and the Sheth Foundation, and serves as a reviewer for journals like the Journal of Consumer Research and conferences including the Association for Consumer Research.
Prior to Northeastern, she held roles as a Marketing Instructor and Behavioral Lab Manager at Arizona State University, contributing to projects such as the Mayo Clinic Patient Experience Committee. Her research and professional service emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to understanding consumer behavior and advancing societal well-being.
