Daniela Raeva-Beri serves as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Economics, Finance and Law within the Faculty of Business and Law at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), Cambridge. Her expertise integrates Economics, Business Management, and Psychology to advance understanding of human decision-making processes and their practical applications in policy design.
Her research sits at the nexus of economics and psychology, utilizing rigorous lab-based experimental methodologies. Core investigations examine how emotions shape choices and how behavioural insights can drive effective behavioural change. Key focus areas include:
- Behavioural Economics
- Economic Psychology
- Experimental Economics
- Decision Making Mechanisms
- Behavioural Intervention Strategies
- Applied Policy Design
Recent publications reveal a sustained emphasis on experimental approaches to decision science, evolving from foundational cognitive studies (2006-2011) toward contemporary applications like household food waste reduction (2024). This trajectory demonstrates consistent integration of psychological principles with economic theory to develop actionable behavioural change frameworks.
Daniela actively supervises undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations while securing competitive research funding, including an ESRC-funded PhD Studentship (2024-2028; £5,000) as principal supervisor, ARU Pump-priming grants for lab equipment (£8,000; 2024), and seed funding for the Behavioural Insights Laboratory (2023).
As co-founder and director of the Behavioural Insights Laboratory and research cluster lead for Behavioural Economics within ARU's Centre for Inclusive Societies and Economies, she drives interdisciplinary collaboration focused on translating experimental findings into real-world societal solutions through team-based behavioural science initiatives.
