Daniela Mitterberger is an Assistant Professor of Architecture with expertise in digital fabrication, human-machine collaboration, and extended reality. She previously served as postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zurich's Gramazio Kohler Research and co-directed the Immersive Design Lab, developing computational methods for architecture.
Her research explores adaptive construction systems, collaborative robotics (demonstrated in projects like 'Tie a knot'), and XR-enabled design processes. Mitterberger co-founded MAEID Büro für Architektur und transmediale Kunst, blending architectural practice with digital art.
Her work has been exhibited internationally including at Venice Biennale 2021, Seoul Biennale 2020, and Ars Electronica, receiving recognition such as the Princess of Asturias Award (2021).
