Daniela Cici

Daniela Cici is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant and Honorary Clinical Fellow at Queen Mary University of London, affiliated with the Blizard Institute's Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and working within the Centre for Bone and Joint Health. She holds a specialist qualification in Rheumatology (CCST equivalent) and contributes to the Barts Biomedical Research Centre Musculoskeletal theme, focusing on osteoarthritis subtheme.

• Former Rheumatology trainee in Italy with clinical experience in inpatient/outpatient settings
• Joined ReGen group for translational research in musculoskeletal diseases

Her research focuses on identifying progression biomarkers and disease subsets for osteoarthritis, aiming to bridge cutting-edge research with clinical practice. Daniela actively engages in academic activities, including lecturing medical students and presenting at the Italian Society of Rheumatology congress. She has contributed to international journal publications, including a first-author seminal paper in EMBO Molecular Medicine.

Daniela collaborates with the ReGen group and is involved in the Barts Biomedical Research Centre initiatives. Her work emphasizes translating scientific knowledge into practical solutions for improving patient care in osteoarthritis.
