Daniela Calanca is an Assistant Professor at the Department of the Arts, University of Bologna (Rimini Campus), specializing in Contemporary History. She holds degrees in Philosophy and Arts from the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on fashion, cultural heritage, and social imaginaries, with notable works exploring 20th-century Italian cultural history and fashion's sociocultural dimensions. She serves as a referee for the VQR evaluation system and has led roles in international relations, including as Director's Delegate for International Relations at the Department of the Arts and previous positions at the Department for Life Quality Studies.
Prof. Calanca collaborates globally, including visiting lectureships at Brown University (USA), University of São Paulo (Brazil), and Federal University of Goiás (Brazil). She is a member of interdisciplinary initiatives like the Unitwin Net/Unesco and leads research projects on cultural heritage, fashion archives, and tourism development. She co-edits ZoneModa and AlmaTourism journals, and is affiliated with research centers such as the Alma Heritage Science IRT and IRT Brasil Unibo.
