Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiologyمعرفی
Daniela Barro-Trastoy is a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology (Germany) since 2022. Previously, she was a Predoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Plants (Spain) from 2018 to 2022. Her research focuses on the epigenetic and molecular mechanisms of plant reproduction, particularly the hormonal regulation of ovule development and seed size.
- PhD in Biotechnology, Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain (2022)
- MSc in Bioinformatics and Bioestatistics, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), Spain (2023)
- MSc in Plant Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology, UPV (2018)
- BSc in Biology, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain (2016)
Daniela’s research interests include the role of gibberellins and brassinosteroids in ovule initiation, the function of DELLA proteins in plant development, and the evolutionary impact of Helitrons on genomic novelties. Her work bridges molecular genetics, hormonal signaling, and epigenetics in model species like Arabidopsis thaliana and tomato.
Daniela’s publications highlight her contributions to understanding how hormonal pathways interact with transcriptional regulators (e.g., DELLA-CUC2 complexes) to modulate plant reproductive structures. Her studies explore gene expression, protein degradation, and comparative mechanisms across species.
She is affiliated with the laboratory of Prof. Köhler at the Max Planck Institute and has collaborated with researchers such as P. Tornero and M.A. Pérez-Amador. Daniela maintains digital identifiers including ORCID 0000-0001-7069-4376 and ResearcherID M-7187-2018.
