Daniel Winter

Daniel Winter is a Researcher at the University of Bonn, affiliated with the Chair of Civil Law, Data Management Law, Data Protection, Digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence. Since August 2024, he has supervised the 'Bridge-Up' project. Previously, he worked as a research assistant at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Dispute Resolution) and Osborne Clarke (IT law). He holds a law degree from the University of Bonn and passed his first state examination in 2023.

Focuses on legal challenges in digitalization, including data protection law, AI ethics, medical data usability, and competition law. His work intersects IT law and the governance of health data within frameworks like the European Health Data Space. Active in interdisciplinary projects at the Research Center for Legal Issues of New Technologies and Data Law (ForTech) eV and the Center for Medical Data Usability.
