Daniel T. Starczynowski

Dr. Daniel T. Starczynowski is a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. He holds dual appointments in the UC Department of Pediatrics and serves as the Katherine Stewart Waters Endowed Chair of Hematologic Malignancies. His roles include Director of the Advanced Leukemia Therapies and Research Center, Associate Director for Basic Sciences at the UC Cancer Center, and Co-Chief Scientific Officer for Innovation Ventures.

Explores the intersection of inflammation and cancer progression, with an emphasis on therapeutic targeting of pathways like NF-κB and IRAK4. His lab investigates cell metabolism, lineage plasticity, and drug resistance mechanisms.

Scientific Contributions: Over 10+ peer-reviewed publications in journals like Blood and Leukemia. Notable work includes discovering novel candidate genes in MDS, elucidating NF-κB’s role in lymphoma, and advancing targeted therapies for leukemia. His lab has pioneered tools like the MICRO-TAG platform for drug discovery.
