Daniel Shalev, MD, is a dual-appointed Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, holding roles in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry. His clinical practice focuses on palliative care and psychiatric care for patients with serious medical illnesses. He maintains triple board certification in Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Shalev completed his MD at Weill Cornell Medical College (2015) and earned an A.B. from Harvard College (2008). He trained in psychiatry residency at Columbia University and completed fellowships in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Hospice/Palliative Medicine.
His research emphasizes mental health integration in palliative care, behavioral health policy, and clinician education. Notable projects include the CoCM-PAL initiative adapting collaborative care models for depression/anxiety in palliative settings (NIH-funded, 2024–2029).
