Daniel Renouf

Daniel Renouf is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and a medical oncologist at the British Columbia Cancer Agency, Vancouver Centre. He serves as leader of the BC Cancer Agency Phase I program, Co-Director of Pancreas Centre BC, and Co-chair of the NCIC pancreatic cancer disease group.

His educational background includes:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Alberta
• Internal medicine and medical oncology training at the University of British Columbia and British Columbia Cancer Agency
• Advanced training in early drug development and gastrointestinal oncology at Princess Margaret Hospital and the University of Toronto
• Master of Public Health (MPH) from Harvard University

Dr. Renouf's research centers on gastrointestinal malignancies with intense focus on pancreatic cancer, spanning developmental therapeutics for novel drug trials, cancer genomics for molecular profiling, and biomarker development to personalize treatment. His work integrates clinical trial leadership with genomic analysis to improve outcomes in treatment-resistant cancers, particularly through Phase I trials and translational research in colorectal and pancreatic cancer subtypes.

As a graduate supervisor in UBC's Interdisciplinary Oncology program, he mentors Master's and PhD candidates in cancer research methodologies. His institutional leadership includes directing BC's early-phase oncology trials infrastructure and co-leading provincial pancreatic cancer initiatives through Pancreas Centre BC.

He maintains active clinical practice at BC Cancer while driving collaborative research through the Division of Medical Oncology and national networks like the NCIC clinical trials group.
