Dr. Daniel R. Rissi is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. He is affiliated with the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and Georgia Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories. His roles include teaching and coordinating courses such as VPAT 5400 Diagnostic Pathology and AVDL Histopathology Rounds.
Education: DVM (2003) and MS/PhD in Veterinary Pathology (2006-2010) from the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil), with a residency at the University of Georgia (2008-2009).
Research focuses on diagnostic pathology, neuropathology, oncopathology, and scientific critical thinking. Notable publications include studies on feline glioma, canine spinal cord glioma, and systemic salmonellosis in cats.
