Daniel Opoku

Dr. Daniel Opoku serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Health Policy, Management and Economics at the School of Public Health, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana, with his office located in the Hutton Addy Wing, Block H. He concurrently holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship for Health Systems Digitalization at the Department of Health Care Management, Berlin University of Technology, Germany, and acts as an Expert Consultant to the World Health Organization on Health Systems and Policies in Africa.

His research centers on Health Systems Digitalization, Health Care Innovations, Evidence-based Health Policy, Health Technology Assessment, and African Health Systems, with extensive expertise in coordinating multi-country implementation research to evaluate health intervention scalability. He currently leads the BMBF-funded eHealth Research Partner Group at KNUST, driving research and capacity development in public health.

Dr. Opoku has secured significant research funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), German Ministry of Health (BMG), European Union (EU), Dutch Organisation for Internationalisation in Education (NUFFIC), and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), enabling international collaborations with major institutions across Africa and Europe.
