Dr. Daniel Loy is a Senior Lecturer (Practice) at the Malaysia School of Business, Monash University Malaysia, and Director of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hub. He holds a PhD in Science Education from Universiti Sains Malaysia (2015), a Master of Online Education from the University of Southern Queensland (2006), and a Bachelor of Multimedia from Multimedia University (2002). His work focuses on entrepreneurship, social innovation, and STEM education, contributing to UN SDGs related to education and sustainable development.
Key roles include Director of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hub, Founder/Principal of Danjumbuck Designs (learning/design consultancy), and former leadership positions at Petrosains Sdn Bhd, Agensi Inovasi Malaysia, and PurpoSE Malaysia. He actively contributes to social equity initiatives and educational reform through social enterprises and innovation programs.
His research interests span entrepreneurship education, maker education, and the integration of innovation in educational systems. He leads the Redesign At iHome (RAI) Project (2022–2025), aimed at enabling age-in-place solutions for Malaysians. Over 14 professional activities include organizing workshops, mentoring, and advisory roles in innovation and education sectors.
Teaching responsibilities include chief examining roles for units like Monash Innovation Guarantee and Social Entrepreneurship. His work emphasizes bridging educational institutions with industry needs through design thinking and collaborative initiatives.
