Daniel Kornrumpf serves as Lecturer at the University of North Georgia's Visual Arts Department, teaching two-dimensional/three-dimensional design, painting, and drawing courses. A recipient of the UNG Teaching Excellence Award (2020), he holds an MFA in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (2007).
Kornrumpf's artistic practice explores portraiture and textile works examining how geographic and cultural environments shape individual identity, particularly within Appalachian contexts. His studio work includes oil paintings investigating objects as symbols of personal/social narratives and textile pieces incorporating text to explore regional representation.
His exhibitions include shows at the Asheville Art Museum, DeCordova Museum, and Hunterdon Art Museum, with representation by Blank Space Gallery in New York.
